Banksia follicles are a favourite subject- I like to try to find the beauty in them. This drawing uses random splashes of liquid graphite as an under-layer, with upper layers of dry graphite added and subtracted with erasers to model the surface. Visible drips, splashes and brushstrokes create a sense of movement and life. 

Highest quality graphite on French museum grade paper will ensure this piece will not fade or discolour over time.
