The Magnolia represents something extremely fragile. and rare. The plant generally takes its time developing the flower bud and when the flowers finally open up, they rarely bloom for more than a day. The internal structure is piled high with carpels and stamens that precariously wait for passing insects, yet one jolt is enough for the stamens to loosen and fall about onto the petals.

These beautiful creamy petals are so sensitive that the slightest touch is enough to discolour them and yet despite this fragility, they overflow generously with the most exquisite forms, colours and textures.
