Merry Christmas & Bye 2020!
Wow! It’s December already!
Since it has come around so quickly, I wanted to take the opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas! I hope you are able to spend some beautiful time with precious loved ones and really enjoy yourselves during this wonderful time of the year!
As we reflect on the year that has passed, it certainly has been a year of stretching, testing and breaking new boundaries. Although the Covid 19 pandemic is not over yet for much of the world, I’m sure we’ve all experienced some level of anxious uncertainty as we muddled our way through it. All we can do is pray this tragedy ends soon!
Although it has been tough, this year has afforded me the opportunity to spend much needed time with family and friends; and for that I am exceptionally grateful. It also allowed me to spend considerably more time in the studio, working on a whole range of artworks, projects and exhibitions. Again, I am thankful, but, like you, happy to say ‘Bye’ to 2020.
Since the end of Noosa Open Studios Exhibition, I have been working on completing these two botanical paintings. They are still WIPs (Works in Progress) but as soon as they are finished I will list them on the website.
I was thinking about big beautiful Monstera leaves and orange Clemantis flowers in this one.
This one was a combination of Strelitzia ( Bird of Paradise), leaves ,seeds and even avocado!
Apart from having fun greeting lots of wonderful people during the Open Studio, many visitors asked me about offering Art classes in 2021. Although I am booked to teach a 3 week class in February/ March for a private group, I don’t have any plans for further face to face sessions at this stage. However, as there were so many requests, I wanted to help out where I could so I have created a FaceBook group & Youtube Channel called…
Welcome to Coaching for Artists- a collaborative community
for artists of all abilities.
The Facebook group allows a private space to chat online, ask questions, and have fun together. It also offers the opportunity for live streaming- which is great for teaching sessions. I just advertise when the next session will be and you turn up online- if you want to, you can chat live with me as well. If you are interested in joining the Facebook group, click the image above or here https://www.facebook.com/groups/antipodesartcoaching
Once the live sessions are over, I convert the video and upload it to the Youtube Channel. If you’re not a Facebook user or simply prefer to take a look on your own, these videos might be more your style. Right now I am developing a series of lessons on Drawing for Beginners. Find the channel here.
So whether you want something live, or prefer to catch up later, I have got you covered. If you’re interested in joining in, the most important thing to note is for you to tell me what you want to see, discuss or learn and I will do my best to provide lessons, tutorials, references and even advice from other pros to help you in your artistic pursuits.
Thank you for your support this year, it has meant the world to me! Until next year, stay safe XXX Naida
