Antipodes Art Studio Sessions
Drawing Lesson Sample
A Drawing class could include:
Loosening up drawing exercises
Ways to 'see'- simplifying shapes
Composition principles
Constructing a drawing/ proportion, perspective and layering objects
modelling surfaces
creating tonal detail
Each participant would need a A2 drawing pad, a range of graphite pencils 2H-4B, erasers- gum and vinyl, paper stumps, knife or sharpeners
Let’s say your personal interest is ‘sea shells’…
Beginner sessions might cover the fundamentals of making marks, using the equipment correctly and techniques to replicate the 3D form and texture of shells.
If you already have some drawing skills we could start with complex forms, lighting for tone and rendering for realism. Learn how to make those shells pop!
Regardless of your abilities, sessions would start with quick exercises then transition to more complex work.
You would be encouraged to work towards a final larger drawing of your chosen shell.
